> James (Jim) Arthur Dhaenens of Prineville passed away on Friday, May 11, 2001. He was 69 years old.
Jim was born on October 12, 1931 to A.J. and Ada (Shaw) Dhaenens in Spokane, Washington. He attended school in Spokane and graduated from Central Valley High School in 1949. After graduating, he went into the trucking industry as a truck driver in the Spokane area for 30 years.
On April 9, 1954 Jim married Betty in Spokane, Washington. He then worked for Central Valley School District for approximately seven years. Jim retired and moved to Prineville where he has resided until the time of death.
After retiring and moving to Prineville Jim started driving the bus for the Senior Center and worked at The Neat Repeat in Prineville.
His hobbies included camping, woodworking, yard work, all sports especially baseball and basketball. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and his many friends. He always had a friendly smile for everyone.
Survivors include his wife Betty of Prineville, daughter and son-in-law; Mary Lou and Kevin Gordon of Spokane, Washington, daughter; Linda Burleson of Battleground, Washington, daughter and son-in-law; Sally and Randy Trautman of Boise, Idaho, daughter and son-in-law; Tina and Mike Townsend of Spokane, Washington, son; Ed Dhaenens of Malo, Washington, son; Joe Dhaenens of Park City, Utah, son and daughter-in-law; Jerry and Sherry Dhaenens of Prineville, 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to The Soroptimists Senior Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at Whispering Pines Funeral Home Chapel. Syd Dorn will officiate.
