mer Prineville resident Cecil L. McKenzie of Turner, Oregon died Nov. 25, 2001 at his home. He was 83 years old.
He was born March 17, 1918 to Ernest and Carrie (Hamilton) McKenzie in Grizzly.
He worked and resided in Prineville for many years before moving to Springfield and later to Florence. He moved to Turner this past year.
He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the army stationed in the Pacific Theatre. He had many hobbies, including traveling, sports, reading and gardening. He was a member of the Turner Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lucille (Huntington) McKenzie; daughter, Eileen Olsen of Schoolcraft, Mich.; sons, Kim McKenzie and Kelly McKenzie, both of Portland; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sisters Maxine Brummer of Prineville and Ernestine Moor of Seattle. He was preceded in death three siblings.
A graveside memorial service was scheduled for today at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Shriner's Children's Hospital in Portland.
