by: JEFF MCDONALD - Southbound drivers exiting in Woodburn took a new, termporary off ramp this week. The offramp will be in place while new on and off ramps are designed as part of the Woodburn Interchange Project.
Southbound traffic on Interstate 5 will have access to Woodburn via a new temporary ramp at Exit 271 this week.

The shift to the new offramp will take place starting Wednesday at 8 p.m. and should be completed by Thursday at 5:30 a.m., according to the Oregon Department of Transportation, which is building the Woodburn Interchange Project.

The ramp change will remain until the permanent ramp is constructed as part of the project.

A new temporary traffic signal also has been installed that will direct motorists onto Highway 214 and Highway 219, according to ODOT.

Motorists should not experience delays, but are advised it may take time to get used to the new configuration and they should proceed with caution. Signs will be posted.
