UPDATE: Victim identified as Nicole Laube, 29. Suspect still at large.

Photo Credit: KOIN 6 NEWS - A police car at the scene of a Tuesday stabbing in Northwest Portland.Authorities have confirmed that a woman stabbed in Northwest Portland Tuesday evening died.

The victim is identified as Nicole Laube, 29, from Forest Grove.

The suspect was still at large Wednesday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the 12000 block of Northwest Barnes Road after a call reporting that a person had been stabbed came in at 5:11 p.m.

LifeFlight was called to the scene but was cancelled in route, according to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.

Bob Ray with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said the victim appeared to have died of homicidal violence. He said the woman was killed on the ground outside of the Timber Creek Apartments.

According to a witness, the woman was an employee at the complex and was showing an apartment to a man when he attacked her. The witness said the victim then made it to another apartment to ask for help.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office also said the woman was an employee at the complex, but they could not confirm whether she was showing an apartment at the time of the attack.

Authorities search with K-9 units but did not locate the suspect.
