Filmusik and Will Vinton Studios are collaborating on a live soundtrack performance of Vinton's 'The Little Prince,' 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Nov. 11 and 12, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, at Hollywood Theatre, 4122 N.E. Sandy Blvd.
Tickets are $12 and $10 for students, children and seniors. They can be purchased at filmusik.com and by calling 503-281-4215.
'The Little Prince' is a charming and lyrical work of animation, and a piece of Oregon film history. Vinton's studios made it in 1979. Filmusik is bringing together original artists for the live performance, including the voice of Little Prince, Michele Mariana, as well as Todd Oleson (Snake), Bob Griggs (King), Tim Conner (Lamplighter), John Morrison (Businessman), Russ Fast (Geographer) and Susan Shadburne (Rose, and script writer).
Filmusik's chamber ensemble performs the original score, and the night also includes live sound effects.
A question-and-answer session with Vinton, the performers and original animators of the film Barry Bruce and Joan Gratz will take place after the Sunday matinee.
Filmusik is also doing a performance of the short film 'Rip Van Winkle' as part of the program. Tim Conner returns as the voice of Rip.
