Driver hits pedestrians

A motorist struck two pedestrians in crosswalk at Meinig Avenue and Pioneer Boulevard Friday evening, March 7.
At around 6:50 p.m., police arrested 39-year-old John Fittinger of Eagle Creek for driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and reckless endangering after he allegedly struck 19-year-old Nicole Matthews of Sandy and 18-year-old Natasha Lisher of Gresham.
Both women were transported to area hospitals by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. Fittinger was transported and lodged at the Clackamas County Jail.
