RALEIGH HILLS - Alpenrose Dairy's 46th annual Easter egg hunt will be held Saturday, March 22, the day before Easter.
The free event is hosted by the Alpenrose family and has been a special treat for kids ages 3-8 since 1962. This year's event will feature lots of candy and hundreds of great prizes for all kids, including the grand prize of 14 6-foot Easter bunnies. Kids will also have a chance to meet the Alpenrose Easter Bunny.
'Hosting the Easter Egg Hunt is a real thrill for us,' said Carl Cadonau Jr., Alpenrose co-president. 'It's our way of saying thank you to our customers, friends and neighbors who have supported us over the past year.
'Each year, I meet more and more second- and third-generation Alpenrose Easter egg hunters,' added Cadonau. 'It's great to see how our event has become such a great family tradition here in Portland.'
The day's 'egg-citement' begins at 10:30 a.m. for kids ages 3 to 5 in a hunt for chocolate eggs, toys and other fun treats.
But the fun isn't just for kids - moms will have a chance to compete for two pairs of exquisite diamond earrings as well as a full makeover from Salon au Rouge during the 'Just-for-Mom' hunt at 11:30 a.m. The final hunt of the day will begin at 12:30 p.m. and is open to kids ages 6 to 8.
Alpenrose officials encourage egg-hunters to arrive early. Alpenrose Dairy is located at 6149 S.W. Shattuck Road.
