TIGARD - The Tigard High School color guard and drum line picked up some awards and recognition from the Northwest Marching Band Circuit recently.

The color guard got first place in the NWMBC SRA for the winter finals. And the drumline got second place in the NWMBC PSA winter finals.

The two groups performed Saturday, March 22, at Westview High School in Beaverton. The color guard performed its program entitled, 'You can't always get what you want,' which featured the use of flags, rifles and sabers.

The drum line performed its 'The Machine' program, which involved pounding out beats on creative percussion instruments like garbage cans and cooking utensils.

Last week the THS band and color guard performed at Disneyland. The groups were chosen to perform in Disney's Magic Music Festival. The groups had multiple performances in both parks and were the opening band and color guard in a parade down Disneyland's main street.
