One-day closure will allow county crews to replace a culvert

Western Washington County commuters can expect some heavy traffic on their way to Highway 26 April 21.

Washington County's Department of Land Use and Transportation plans to close Jackson School Road on April 21 to replace a road culvert. The road will be closed between Evergreen Road and Meek Road from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The county wants to make sure that traffic moves as smoothly as possible during this necessary but inconvenient road work, so using Glencoe Road as an alternate route is encouraged.

About 9,000 vehicles a day travel on Jackson School Road at this location, according to 2007 traffic counts. Signs advising of the upcoming closure will be posted.
