6A BASEBALL - Tigard builds a 7-1 lead through three innings to win opener
by: David Ball Reynolds’ Cody Pollack moves safely back to first base during the Raiders’ 8-3 loss to Tigard in Monday’s playoff game.

TIGARD - Reynolds missed some early scoring chances and never recovered during an 8-3 loss to Tigard in the first round of the OSAA 6A baseball playoffs Monday.

The Raiders put two runners in scoring position in the second inning and had Derek Mueller lead off the third inning with a triple into the gap in right field. But Reynolds was left with nothing to show for it on the scoreboard.

Meanwhile, the host Tigers put up multiple runs in each of the first three innings to take quick command of the game.

After seeing Mueller thrown out at the plate early in the third, Reynolds did bring one run across on a two-out double by Cody Childs.

But the Raiders would not get any closer than 7-3 the rest of the way.
