Interested in tracing your roots and learning about who is in your family tree?

The Portland Area Personal Ancestral File Users Group, a nonprofit organization, can show you how to use your PC to trace your family tree.

A series of 11 classes will be given starting Jan. 20. These classes are free, open to the public and oriented to the beginner.

Instructors will demonstrate how to obtain, install, configure and use the PAF software. PAF is the oldest and most mature of the genealogical databases currently in use. It is multi-cultural and multi-lingual.

All classes will be held on the third Saturday of each month, except December, at 9 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon), 14903 S.W. Westlake Drive in Lake Oswego. Overflow parking is available at the office building across the street.
