Volunteers needed to change county commission structure
- Sandy Post - News
Clackamas County is seeking 15 volunteers to serve on a task force that will develop criteria for a new five-member board of county of commissioners.
'There are complex issues ahead in Clackamas County, and we believe it is time to see if the public supports an expansion in the Board of Commissioners,' said Chairwoman Martha Schrader. 'We are asking citizens interested in this important question to step forward and help us develop a measure for voter consideration.'
The Board of County Commissioners Task Force will focus on whether a five-member board would be partisan or non-partisan, the length and number of terms, election by district versus at-large and other matters.
Volunteers for the panel must live in Clackamas County. The deadline for application is Friday, March 9. Interested persons may apply by calling 503-655-8751 or visiting www.co.clackamas.or.us/citizenin/app.asp.
