Villages at Mt. Hood sets attendance record

The Villages at Mt. Hood had a record turnout at its Saturday, Feb. 24, town hall meeting with 99 registered participants in attendance.

In a 53-12 vote with six abstaining, voters approved a new supported activity titled 'Community Input on County Lands,' which designated the Rhododendron and Mt. Hood Corridor CPOs as the organizations to work with Clackamas County on decisions about land. Voters also approved the alignment of the village bylaws with the Oregon attorney general's manual in a 76-0 vote with one abstaining.

Susan Corwin announced at the meeting that the supported activity 'U.S. 26 Streetscapes and Pedestrian Paths' - approved at the Villages' first town hall meeting on May 6, 2006 - reached its completion after it failed to receive grant funding.

The next Villages at Mt. Hood Town Hall meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at the Dorman Center (formerly the Hoodland Community Center). For more information, visit
