Fleeing from the police is never a good idea, and it is even less effective when you drive into a cul-de-sac.

Three suspected burglars received such a lesson in Fairview on Thursday, March 15.

Dwaine Coppernoll Jr., 22, Timothy Hillard, 26, and Brady Crowson, 23, allegedly kicked in an apartment door in the 20000 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard and then fled around 4:20 p.m.

Police tried to stop the vehicle, but it sped away.

'A pursuit ensued but ended quickly when the vehicle turned into a nearby cul-de-sac,' a statement from the Fairview Police Department said.

The three suspects fled the vehicle in different directions. Two were caught after lengthy foot chases, while the third was apprehended after walking by an undercover police car.

Coppernoll and Hillard are charged with burglary, eluding and parole violations; Crowson faces counts of burglary and eluding. The suspects have also been implicated in other crimes and more charges may be filed.
