Autopsy results inconclusive, according to medical examiner

Portland police homicide detectives are investigating the death of an 18-month- old infant whose body was discovered Sunday morning.

An autopsy on Monday morning was inconclusive, according to police spokeswoman Officer Catherine Kent. The medical examiner's office is awaiting the results of toxicology tests.

Kent said the body was discovered around 8:09 a.m. when Northeast Precinct officers responded to a call of a death in a home in the 3900 block of Northeast 12th Avenue.

Police are continuing the investigation, Kent said.
