Citizens will develop criteria for selection of board
Clackamas County Commissioners have selected 13 area residents to serve on a task force that will develop criteria for a new five-member board of county of commissioners. Estacada resident David Bugni, former Estacada School Board chair, will represent the Estacada area.
The "Board of County Commissioners Task Force" will focus on whether commissioners will be full or part-time, elected by district versus at-large, and partisan or non-partisan among other things.
Citizens selected include: Verne Duncan, Milwaukie - Chair; Gregory Chaimov, Milwaukie - Vice-Chair; Glen Boreth, Molalla; David Bugni, Estacada; Chris Groener, Oregon City; Michael Jordan, Canby; James Kosel, Oregon City; Cynthia Mohiuddin, Lake Oswego; Linda Moraga, Clackamas; Ray Phelps, Lake Oswego; Ernest Platt, Damascus; Susan Trotter, Milwaukie; and Gregg Weston, Lake Oswego.
'The applicants are a high caliber, quality group of citizens which made the decision of choosing a difficult subject to tackle,' said Clackamas County Board of County Commissioners Chair Martha Schrader. 'The Task Force is a solid group of citizens that are interested in the County working effectively. The time has come for this discussion.'
A website has been created to provide updated information to citizens about the Task Force's progress. It can be found at www.co.clackamas.or.us.
