Next:Portland's road trip continues at Colorado Springs tonight and, after a day off Wednesday, the Bevos play at Tucson through Sunday. The next homestand starts Monday.

• Oscar Robles was expected to be called up this week after hitting .309 and playing sound infield in April for the Bevos. He was a nonroster invitee to the San Diego Padres' camp. 'They liked the way he had good at-bats,' Bevo manager Rick Renteria says. Reliever Aaron Rakers was expected to return to Portland.

• The Bevos had a 2-8 road record heading into Monday while averaging fewer than three runs and seven hits per game away from PGE Park. 'When everybody's clicking, we're great,' Renteria says. 'When not, we don't score runs.'

• Paul McAnulty started 2 for 17. 'Of the 17 at-bats, he probably hit 14 balls extremely hard,' Renteria says. … Jack Cust had a 10-game hitting streak entering Monday (.310, six homers, 15 RBIs, 14 walks).
