Riverdale a state leader

Recently released test scores from the Oregon Department of Education placed the Riverdale School District among the top districts in the state.
Specifically, the scores for Riverdale High School students (grade 10) ranked the district No. 1; 90 percent of students met or exceeded state standards. Riverdale sophomores went up 8.6 percent in reading; 12.2 percent in math and 0.7 percent in writing.
Middle school students (grades 6-8) ranked the district No. 2 behind Black Butte School District; 96 percent of students met or exceeded state standards. Elementary school students (grades 3-5) came in at the seventh spot; 89 percent of students met or exceeded state standards.
'These scores are a credit to our exceptional students, amazing teaching staff and highly-supportive parents,' said Superintendent Thomas Hagerman. 'We are especially proud of the results for Riverdale High School, which has risen to this position of state leadership in just 10 short years.'
