Katy Vowles and 1-year-old daughter Lindsey take a closer look at Lake Oswego’s sparkling holiday tree during last year’s lighting ceremony.

Lake Oswego's 43rd annual Holiday Tree Lighting will begin at 4:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23.

The event, hosted by the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce, will begin with a performance by the Lake Oswego High School chorale group. They will perform at Bigelow Plaza at the A Avenue and Fifth Street Safeway.

Mayor Judie Hammerstad will be at the plaza to light the tree, between 5 and 5:15 p.m.

From there, everybody moves down to Millennium Plaza Park, around 5:45 p.m. At the plaza, a second tree will be lit, around 6 p.m.

Santa will arrive at Millennium Plaza Park on a Lake Oswego Fire Department truck. The Millennium Band will be performing as well as the Lakeridge High School company.

In addition, there will be coffee, popcorn and cookies, as well as Boy and Girl Scouts and Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce volunteers.

The events are sponsored by Marcia Kies of the Hasson Co., First American Title Insurance Co. of America, Safeway, Starbucks and the Lake Oswego Review.
