An Aloha resident was found dead in his Washington County Jail cell on Sunday after he apparently committed suicide.
A Washington County Sheriff's deputy found Ryan Douglas Greenfield, 44, of Aloha, in his cell at about 1:15 p.m. Sunday.
The deputy called for assistance. Deputies and medical staff attempted life-saving measures until personnel from the Hillsboro Fire Department arrived and took over. Paramedics declared Greenfield, who hanged himself, deceased at the scene.
The death is under investigation. There were no witnesses, and Greenfield did not have a cellmate.
He was arrested Saturday on accusations of a probation violation, several counts of tampering with drug records, possession of a forged instrument, reckless driving and second-degree escape after an alleged escape from the Community Corrections Center on July 9.
Greenfield's family members have been notified of his death.
