The community knows what to do.

Every Wednesday morning before the Thursday of Mountain Festival week, chairs begin to materialize along Pioneer Boulevard. The town's biggest parade of the year during its busiest weekend of the year prompts die-hard Sandians to snag that ultimate parade-watching spot more than a day before the event -- leaving camp chairs, plastic seats and even red wagons along the otherwise vacant sidewalk.

The Sandy Mountain Festival and the Chamber of Commerce's Music Fair and Feast officially kick off festivities tonight.

The carnival at the Bobnick's Family Produce property opens at 4 p.m. Thursday and the Music Fair and Feast tents open at 5:30 p.m. for yummy goodies and beer and wine for the adults.

Mountain Festival fun kicks off at 7 p.m. with the annual Sandy Mountain Festival parade. Grab your chairs, friends and family and join thousands of other people along Pioneer Boulevard between Bluff Road and Wolf Drive to enjoy this year's theme, 'Lookin' for Adventure.' Look for The Sandy Post's special parade entry.
