Adult Group Bike Ride - 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Main City Park, 219 S. Main Ave. This series of free, moderately paced adult group bicycle rides will explore the area between Gresham, Troutdale and the Sandy River as well as East Portland. Bike rides range from 15 to 25 miles. The group will travel at around 13-15 mph and stop for coffee, bakery sweets or ice cream somewhere along the route. Riders are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes early; the group leaves at 10 a.m. sharp from Gresham's Main City Park. For more information, call Bud Rice at 503-667-0683.

East Portland Exposition (EPO XPO) - 10 a.m., Ed Benedict Community Park, Southeast Powell Boulevard and 102nd Avenue, Portland. EPO XPO, co-sponsored by all 13 East Portland neighborhoods, is a multicultural event and features both traditional and contemporary performances as well as numerous exhibitors, food and free activities for children and families. Soil Superheroes at Blue Lake - 1 to 5 p.m., Blue Lake Regional Park, 20500 N.E. Marine Drive, Fairview. Discover how worms help plants, beetles beat bad bugs, fungi fertilize soil and how other wild creatures can help your garden grow. For ages 3 and up; adult supervision is required. Parking $5 for cars, $7 for buses and free for bicycles and pedestrians. No registration is necessary. Hosted by Metro.


Oxbow Adventures: River Birds and River Bugs - 10:30 a.m. to noon, Oxbow Regional Park, 3010 S.E. Oxbow Parkway. Enjoy the day watching creatures in the Sandy River and those that soar above. Suitable for ages 5-10. Meet at the Alder Shelter (group picnic area A); arrive at the park entrance by 10:15 a.m. to get to the area on time. The Horseless Carriage Club of America is leading a tour through the Columbia River Gorge area and expects to make a stop in Troutdale for a visit.
