The Clackamas Emergency Services Foundation has scheduled its second-annual dinner/auction fundraiser at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, at the Persimmon Country Club, 500 S.E. Butler Road, Gresham.

The nonprofit organization was formed in 1998 to provide funds to help people in need within the community. Its mission is "to provide humanitarian assistance to those who have been adversely affected by disaster, tragedy, injury or other misfortune, and to work actively toward preventing or minimizing the impact of such misfortunes in our community.”

Throughout the year, firefighters and other emergency service agencies not only assist citizens during emergency events such as fires, accidents, medical emergencies, etc., but also help afterward in various ways to minimize the effects of these events for these citizens.

The foundation consists of Clackamas Fire District No. 1, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Milwaukie Police Department and Oregon City Police Department. When any of these agencies respond to a call and a need is determined, foundation funds are used to help those citizens.
