Nonpartisan political training Saturday, Jan. 11, at Happy Valley City Hall, 16000 S.E. Misty Drive, will help guide potential candidates and campaign workers through campaign basics, from filing requirements to raising money, marketing the candidate, winning an election and holding office.

Brent Barton, Bill Kennemer and Julie Parrish, along with Happy Valley Councilor Michael Morrow, will be members of a panel discussing “Can I Afford to Run, and Is It Worth It?”

During the forum sponsored by the North Clackamas County Chamber of Commerce, information will be applicable to candidates for special-district offices up to state representative, campaign volunteers and those interested in the political process.

Registration and coffee service begin at 8 a.m., with the program starting promptly at 8:30 a.m. The workshop will conclude at 12:30 p.m. Register for the $30 workshop at or by calling 503-654-7777.
