A Valentine’s Heart Health Fair is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at New Urban High School, 1901 S.E. Oak Grove Blvd.

Sponsored by the Historic Downtown Oak Grove Association and Metropolitan Family Service, this free event will provide information and interactive experiences intended to improve the community’s healthy eating, exercise and heart-health habits.

Northwest Primary Care Group will offer free heart screenings. Fun activities for kids will try to raise awareness about the impact of exercise on heart functioning, stress and happiness. Attendees of the event also can get a free massage and talk to an expert about Care Oregon for help enrolling for health insurance coverage.

Other vendors will provide gardening tips, interactive activities to show kids how to grow their own seeds, and samples of nutritious food made locally in Oak Grove. All participants have a chance to win a free personal training session for the whole family and many other prizes.
