“Star Light, Star Bright” is the theme for Oregon City-based nonprofit Angels in the Outfield’s annual auction and dinner 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Oregon Golf Club, 25700 S.W. Petes Mountain Road, West Linn.

Casey Gwinn, a nationally renowned speaker and activist for Family Justice Centers, will be the keynote speaker for the Angels’ largest fundraiser, to be emceed by Clackamas County Sheriff Craig Roberts.

Angels in the Outfield, an all-volunteer organization serving children whose lives have been impacted by crime or abuse, spent more than $13,000 on 23 separate requests since Jan. 1. Last year it spent more than $72,000 helping affected children and their approximately 150 separate families with basic needs.

Angels are procuring auction items through March 31 and seeking reservations for the event through April 3. Tickets are $50 per person, which includes dinner, hosted wine and dessert.

“We are an all-volunteer organization, and all proceeds go to helping children and families,” said founder Shannon Kmetic. “We have considerable support from the community, namely fraternal organizations, individual donors, businesses, grants, etc.”
