Fill A Stocking, Fill A Heart plans several upcoming events -

Let Fill A Stocking, Fill A Heart do the cooking while The Touchables sing their 1960s hits Thursday, July 17, at The End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, 1726 Washington St., Oregon City.

Food will be served from 5:30 to 8 p.m., and the music will play from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Salad, chips and a beverage are included with hot dogs ($5), Polish dogs ($6) and veggie burgers ($6). All money raised from the meals will be used to fill Christmas stockings for the less fortunate in Clackamas County.

Fill a Stocking, Fill a Heart is a local nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, with no paid staff, assisting agencies in Clackamas County by providing their neediest clients with a filled stocking during the holidays.

For dessert, you can join Fill A Stocking, Fill A Heart for its Christmas in July workshop from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at 358 Warner Milne Road, Suite G103, Oregon City. Dessert will be served to say “thank you” to volunteers and invite the public to join and learn more about the organization. If you bring a donation of shampoo, toothpaste or crew socks to help fill stockings, you’ll receive a free raffle ticket during the event.

You also can share your Fred Meyer Rewards with Fill A Stocking, Fill A Heart by going to and searching by name or by nonprofit number, 91156. Then every time you shop and use your Rewards card, you help earn a donation while still earning your reward points, fuel points and rebates. If you do not have a Rewards card, they are available at the customer service desk of any Fred Meyer store.

Fill a Stocking, Fill a Heart clients receiving stockings range from newborns to senior citizens, with the greatest need in ages 12 through adult. More than 3,200 stockings were distributed in 2013. To find out more, check out or at
