Cyndi Panko has been selected as the new director of special services for the Oregon City School District.

by: SUBMITTED - PankoPanko comes to OCSD from the North Clackamas School District with nine years as a school psychologist and coordinator of special services. Previously she had worked seven years as a school psychologist in the Sherwood School District.

While at North Clackamas, Panko provided oversight, direction and coordination of special education services to 11 schools, interviewed and hired all the district’s new school psychologists, conducted multiple staff trainings, and ensured compliance of special education processes and law.

“Cyndi Panko’s collaborative, straightforward and personable leadership style will be an asset on our administrative team. She is an advocate for students and families. We are excited to have her join our district,” said Superintendent Larry Didway.

Panko’s references all describe her as a bright, decisive, collaborative and creative leader, saying her oral and written communication skills are excellent, and her quality of work is exemplary.

“I am excited to join the Oregon City School District team. I look forward to meeting the students, families and staff of the community,” she said. “I enjoy supporting the learning of children and the fostering of independence. I strive to help each child learn to be their best.”

Candidates for the position met with a screening committee of district office staff, principals and representatives of the special-education department before interviewing with the superintendent and district level administrators.
