Over 400 cars to cuise in to historic downtown Oregon City
On Saturday, Sept. 16, over 400 cars will drive into downtown for the 8th Annual Cruise to Historic Downtown Oregon City, fueled by Busch Furniture and Weinhard Grill. Cars from around the Pacific Northwest will show off their style and draw in thousands of car enthusiasts and spectators alike for one of the Portland Metro area's largest car shows of the year.
Trick'n Racy Cars, a nonprofit car club in Oregon City, is collaborating with DOCA to put on the car show and raise money for local charities, including H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Eat), Meals on Wheels, Clackamas Women's Shelter, The Child Abuse Center, Clackamas Community College Automotive Scholarship, Oregon City Senior Center, and the Downtown Oregon City Association. Spectators can support these charities by buying raffle tickets for the chance to win an assortment of prizes such as gift cards, tickets to some of Oregon City's favorite restaurants and retailers. All raffle items will be on display for viewers prior to purchasing tickets.
Over 40 trophies will be awarded to registered cars at the end of the day. Classic awards like Favorite 50s, 60s, and 70s, paired with crowd pleasers like "Drive it Like You Stole it" and "Under Construction" create a fun and exciting environment for participants and spectators. Car owners can also participate in a poker walk at local downtown businesses throughout the day.
The show begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. Judging will begin at noon with an awards ceremony in Liberty Plaza before the event closes. For more information visit downtownoregoncity.org/events. The car show is also supported by Oregon City Les Schwab, Stacy Spahr and Bret Pippett of Country Financial, B&B Leasing, Willamette Valley Boat Company, and Clackamas Auto Parts.
