Clackamas River Water looks to replace Larry Sowa on board
Clackamas River Water is accepting applications for one of its Board of Commissioners positions following the resignation of Larry Sowa on Jan. 11.
Sowa, a former Clackamas County commissioner, was appointed to the CRW board during a contentious period in 2012 when voters recalled former CRW Commissioner Pat Holloway and two other CRW commissioners resigned. Clackamas County commissioners stepped into the volatile political situation and named Sowa among three appointees to the CRW Board.
This time there are enough remaining CRW commissioners to do their own appointment without the county stepping in. The appointee to the seat will serve through the remainer of Sowa's current term until June 30, 2019.
Regular board meetings are scheduled for the second Thursday and work sessions for the fourth Monday of each month. Interested candidates may be interviewed by the CRW Board at the March 8 meeting.
The appointment of the new commissioner will be considered during a special meeting of the CRW Board in March.
Those interested in serving are asked to complete an application at crwater.com/2018-board-commissioners-applications.
