Book Signings

Local author Kathryn Hurd will host a series of readings and book signings for her newly published book of Estacada history, "Estacada Sagas." She will also introduce her new children's book "Esther's Wild Rides," set in Estacada in 1904. Books will be available for purchase at all events. The events are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, at the Estacada Public Library, 825 N.W. Wade St.; 1 p.m. Saturday, July 22, at the Mossy Rock, 398 Broadway St.; 10 a.m. Saturday, July 29, at Hi-School Pharmacy, 207 Broadway St.; 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at The Mason Jar, 360 Broadway St.; and 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at Philip Foster Farm, 29912 S.E. Eagle Creek Road.

Police Ice Cream Social

All are invited to an ice cream social with the Sandy Police Department beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, at Estacada City Hall, 475 S.E. Main St. Topics such as how to contact a police officer, how to report suspicious activity and when to use the non-emergency number will be discussed.

Farmers Market

The Estacada Farmers Market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays through Sept. 30, outside Wade Creek House Antiques, 664 N.W. Wade St.

Princess Tea Party

There will be Princess Tea Party to celebrate the release of the book "Attributes of a Princess" at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 20, at the Estacada Public Library, 825 N.W. Wade St. The event will feature a book signing, photo opportunities and a complimentary lunch. Participants are encouraged to wear princess dresses. The $25 admission fee includes lunch and a copy of the book.

Estacada Summer Celebration

Old Time Cruise to Estacada

The annual Old Time Cruise to Estacada, hosted by the Route 26 Cruisers, is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Timber Park, 30878 N.W. Evergreen Way. Aspen Meadow Band Benefit Event

The Aspen Meadow Band will host their annual "Summer Finally Got Here" concert and classic car show from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at the Aspen Meadow Amphitheater, 24232 S. Vintage Outdoor Market

Wade Creek House Antiques will host a vintage outdoor market from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at 664 N.W. Wade St. The event will feature a variety of vendors with antiques, vintage, primitive, industrial, re-purposed, and handmade items.

Estacada High School All Alumni Reunion

A reunion is open to all who attended Estacada schools, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at picnic section two in Barton Park. Participants should bring a food dish and their own beverages for a potluck lunch at 1 p.m. Food should not be brought in glass containers. There is a $5 per family registration fee and a $5 parking fee per vehicle. Attendees are also encouraged to bring canned food donations. Estacada High School class of 1977 reunion

Members of Estacada High School's class of 1977 are invited to celebrate their 40th class reunion from Aug. 25-27 at the Resort at the Mountain in Welches. Activities on Friday, Aug. 25, include a meet and greet from 4-6 p.m. at the Mallard Pub and a social from 6-9 p.m. in the Breamer room. Saturday, Aug. 26, will feature golf beginning at 9 a.m. and dinner from 5-7 p.m. in the Trees Meeting Room. The cost of dinner is $60 per person. The Estacada spinning and fiber arts group meets from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Fridays at Betty Veveiros CPA, 309 S.W. Highway 224.

Coffee with Firefighters

Estacada fire holds a community coffee at 9 a.m. the first Tuesday of each month at the fire station, 445 S.E. Currin St. The event is an opportunity to meet firefighters and staff, ask questions and learn about the district.


City Council

Chamber Lunch

The next Estacada Chamber of Commerce Lunch is scheduled for noon to 1 p.m. and will feature State Senator Alan Olsen. The program is free to chamber members and $15 for non-members. Estacada Community Outreach will host a free breakfast from 8-11 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, at the center. All are welcome.

Dinner, live music and dancing

An all-ages evening of dinner, live music performed by the Classic Country Connection Band and dancing will be held starting at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at the center. Dinner and dancing is $8, or $3 if you come for music and dancing only. There will be a 50/50 raffle to benefit Meals on Wheels.

Red Cross blood drive

The Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 1-6 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, at the center. Call 1-800-733-2767 for an appointment.

Blood pressure checks

There will be free and confidential blood pressure checks from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, July 20, at the center.

Community Center Board meeting

The next Community Center Board meeting will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 20, at the center. The meeting is open to the public.

Zumba classes

Zumba classes are held at the center from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday evenings and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. some Saturday mornings. Zumba is $5 per class, or $25 for a monthly pass. Call 503-680-4338 for more information.

Dance Fitness with Susan

Exercise to music for all fitness levels on Tuesday and Thursday evenings with Susan Wagner at the center from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Weekday lunches and games

Lunch is served in the center's dining room for all ages at noon on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, with full salad bar on Tuesdays and Fridays. Donations are suggested for seniors; lunch is $4 for those under 60. Chicken foot dominoes follows Monday and Thursday lunches. Bingo follows lunch on Tuesday and Friday. Free Tai Chi classes

Free Tai Chi classes for ages 12 and up are held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Fridays at the center.

Seniors exercise class

Exercise classes for seniors are held at 9:30 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays at the center.

Tae Kwon Do classes

Tae Kwon Do classes for ages 8 and up are held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays downstairs at the center. Call 503-975-7119 for information and cost.

Weight- loss group

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), a weight-loss group open to all ages, meets at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday mornings at the center.

Library, ping-pong, puzzles and computer solitaire

Drop in to the Community Center from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.


Alcoholics Anonymous

An Alcoholics Anonymous group meets from 7-8 p.m. every Thursday at the Assembly of God Church, 478 N.W. Wade St. Another AA group meets from 7-8:30 p.m. Mondays and Fridays at St. Aloysius Parish, 297 N.W. Broadway St.

Narcotics Anonymous

A Narcotics Anonymous group meets at 7 p.m. Wednesdays at 295 N.W. Wade St. Call 503-290-4507 for more information.

Grief share

The Grief Share group is there for people who have lost a close friend or loved one, helping to turn mourning into acceptance and to remind them of the joy that remains in life. The program consists of a 13-week study utilizing a workbook, videos and discussion. Confidentiality is required of all who attend. Grief Share meets from 2-4 p.m. Mondays and 4-6 p.m. Thursdays at Clackamas Valley Baptist Church, 29275 S.E. Eagle Creek Road.
