What's inside: Art show featuring drawings will soon open at Clackamas Community College

Art show opens at college

The work of Portland artist Ben Gilbert will soon be featured at Clackamas Community College. "Indigo, Olive and Brick Red," an exhibit featuring a sampling of Gilbert's nearly 200 drawings, will be on display at the college from Monday, Nov. 13, through Friday, Dec. 8.

Gilbert is a self-taught artist and uses crayon on cardboard to record his day-to-day life. His abstract style highlights landscapes, figures and ideas.

A reception for the show will be held from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, during which Gilbert will discuss his work. Both the exhibit and reception will be at the college's Pauling Center at the Oregon City Campus, 19600 Molalla Ave. The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and admission is free.
