Elementary school hosts bingo night
Clackamas River Elementary School will host a family bingo night from 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 20. The event will also feature a silent auction, live auction, face painting, cake walk, golf, football toss and food.
Bingo is $2 per card, and tickets for other activities are $1 each. Refreshments available for purchase will include hot dogs, nachos, cotton candy, popcorn and popsicles. Proceeds from the event will go toward purchasing playground equipment for the school at 301 N.E. Second Ave.
College enrolling for tuition-free program
This summer, high school graduates and incoming seniors are invited to enroll in tuition-free courses at Clackamas Community College. Students in the college's Summer Scholars program can earn college credit for classes taken during the eight-week term, which is scheduled from Monday, June 25, to Friday, Aug. 17. Available courses will include public speaking, health, first aid and CPR, college algebra, trigonometry and pre-calculus, statistics and calculus. Students can register for up to 10 college credits and will only be financially responsible for course fees and books.
"Students who enroll in the Summer Scholar program will accelerate their college education while saving both time and money," said Jaime Clarke, director of education partnerships at Clackamas Community College.
Hunters Association hosts youth event
The Pioneer Chapter of the Oregon Hunters Association, which includes the Estacada area, will hold its annual youth shotgun and archery skills day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Canby Rod & Gun Club, 25011 S. Molalla Forest Road.
Participating youths must attend a safety orientation at the event. Firearms, shells, eye and hearing protection are provided.
The $10 registration fee includes a hamburger or hotdog lunch.
Pre-registration is required, and a parent or legal guardian must attend. Lunch is available for those accompanying youths for $5.
