Estacada holds Molalla in single digits during the second set for a quick sweep Tuesday night

ESTACADA NEWS: DAVID BALL - Estacadas Trinity Gach puts up a block against Molallas Georgia Hunter during the Rangers three-set sweep last week.

Tri-Valley Conference

Team Score
Estacada (25, 25, 25)
Molalla (12, 9, 13)

Estacada's volleyball team all but locked up second place in the Tri-Valley Conference with a quick sweep over Molalla on Tuesday night.

The Rangers doubled up their opponents early when setter Emily Gant bumped a ball the width of the net for Sophia Davies, who smashed an attack down the line. Molalla got three touches on the ball before putting it into the net to give Estacada a 21-10 lead late in the first set.

It was more of the same in the second set with Davies smashing a ball that drove Molalla's setter off the court. That opened the floor for teammate Trinity Gach to hit a clean winner through the middle for a 16-8 lead.

The Rangers were never challenged on their way to the 25-12, 25-9, 25-13 match victory.

Estacada (10-7) competes at a Seaside tournament on Saturday before closing out the league season at last-place Gladstone at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
