Ruby Fershey, 84, gets visit from great-great-great granddaughters

Five generations met to celebrate their family. Longtime Forest Grove resident Ruby Fershey, 84, received an early New Year's gift — a visit with Alexis Berryhill and Isabelle Gregory-MacAvoy, two of her 12 great-great-grandchildren — on Dec. 27 at Wynwood of Forest Grove, a senior care center.

Alexis is 2 and lives in Broken Bow, Okla., with her parents, Heather and Heath Berryhill. Isabelle was born last October and lives in Lake Stevens, Wash., with her parents, Jessica and Jeffrey Gregory-MacAvoy. The girls' mothers, Heather and Jessica, are sisters and the only children of their parents, Kelly Gregory and David Gregory Jr. of Forest Grove.

Maxine Gregory, Ruby's daughter and mother of David Gregory, also attended the mini-reunion.

The oldest of the five-generation family is Ruby Fershey, 84. She is married to Richard Fershey. Next in line is Maxine Gregory; then David Gregory, Jr.; then Heather Berryhill and Jessica Gregory-MacAvoy. The youngest are Alexis Berryhill and Isabelle Gregory-MacAvoy.
