by: COURTESY PHOTO - The Dairy Creek Community Food Web presents its June film, “Truck Farm,” about a quirky urban farmer who uses green-roof technology and heirloom seeds to plant a garden in the bed of his grandpa's old pickup. The 45-minute documentary is well-suited to both adults and to children aged 8 and up, said Food Web spokeswoman Robin Lindsley. “It is such an upper,” she said. Many of the Food Web’s recent films have been “about all the things that are not okay about what’s happening with the food in our country,” she said. But this one shows how one creative person can have a positive impact even in the middle of New York City. The monthly films have drawn audiences of five to 45, depending on the topic, Lindsley said. Showings include free popcorn and are usually followed by short discussions. The film starts at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20, in the Forest Grove Grange, 1917 B St.
