Forest Grove, Cornelius get Metro grants

The Metro Council awarded $4.2 million in Community Planning and Development Grants to local cities and counties on Aug. 22. The City of Forest Grove will receive $123,000 for projects on the west side of the city, and the City of Cornelius will get $73,000 to develop a concept plan for urban reserves to prepare the city for future UGB expansion and annexations.

The grants, funded by the region’s construction excise tax, provide support for planning and community development activities at the local level, according to Ken Ray, senior public affairs coordinator for Metro.
