With Carpenter donating his labor and design work, and with much of the project already paid for through donations, the Forest Grove Library Foundation still needs to raise at least $15,000 more.

On Tuesday, Sept. 17, supporters can raise money while enjoying food and drink when they attend Friends & Family Night at the Ironworks Grill in McMenamins Grand Lodge.

The fundraiser runs from 5 p.m. until closing time and will donate 50 percent of all proceeds to the foundation.

Previous such fundraisers have raised as much as $2,500, said Library Director Colleen Winters, who hopes to surpass that record next Tuesday.
