John Robinson, a Forest Grove resident, is organizing a wheelchair support group.

“There’s no group that works with people in chairs,” he told the News-Times last week, after wheeling into the paper’s office on Pacific Avenue. “Getting around town in a chair is actually really hard.”

Right now, he’s trying to find out if there’s any interest in such a group.

Group members would likely meet to chat, share resources, come up with chair-friendly travel routes and organize a group to meet with city officials.

The group’s focus will depend on members’ interests.

The first meeting will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 2 at the Forest Grove Senior & Community Center, 2037 Douglas St.
