Cornelius police officers arrested William Savage, 48, and Christopher Serafin, 30, on multiple charges related to a burglary-turned-armed robbery this month.

Officers also have identified additional persons of interest.

Savage and Serafin were still lodged at the Washington County Jail as of Monday, and officers believe they’ve been involved in other burglaries, which included the theft of sports memorabilia, office supplies and outdoor power equipment.

The robbery occurred at a residence on Jasper Circle Friday, Sept. 27. Cornelius police officers responded after a homeowner found an intruder in his house and called for help. The caller had gone home on his lunch break and reportedly found Savage inside. Savage then allegedly pointed a gun at the caller, told him to stay back, took some property, and fled into a neighboring residence.
