A new crosswalk with push-button flashing safety devices is now functioning at N.W. Thatcher Road and N.W. David Hill Road. Another crosswalk at Gales Creek Road and Forest Gale Drive is currently under construction and will likely be completed and activated by the end of the year.

The city of Forest Grove and Washington County teamed up to bring the crosswalks to rural areas.

The project has been a city goal for a few years with increased residential development on David Hill Road and the increased pedestrian traffic to Thatcher Park, as well the crossing at the Forest Gale Heights trail entrance.

The City will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Thatcher and David Hill Road intersection.
