Oregon Rep. Deborah Boone (D-Cannon Beach) has filed to run for a sixth term in the state Legislature representing House District 32, which includes most of Clatsop County, the northern half of Tillamook County and the western portion of Washington County.

Boone said her top priorities are emergency preparedness, energy, education and the economy.

“We need a focus on implementing the Oregon Resilience Plan,” Boone said, “to protect our residents, businesses and coastal communities that will be in harm’s way in the event of a Cascadia earthquake and tsunami.”

Boone also highlighted opportunities in the renewable energy sector, pledging to work with coastal community colleges on a shared curriculum for renewable energy technician training.

First elected in 2004, Boone has advocated for veterans, education, children and families.
