Drug paraphernalia found, but police have no suspects

Someone entered the Forest Grove Community School’s “Back Yard Garden” on the corner of 19th Avenue and Main Street over the weekend and broke a bird house, took down student-made signs and left drug paraphernalia behind.

FGCS Assistant Principal Karen Torry said a parent volunteer who discovered the damage notified police, who seized the suspected drug paraphernalia, which included a baggie and a pipe.

Police have indicated they will increase patrols in the area, noted Torry.

A family connected to the school — Jen, Rob, Noelle and Andi Robison — cleaned up the mess and replaced the signs.

“While we are sad that this incident occurred, it serves as a reminder that we have an amazingly devoted school community,” said Torry.

Capt. Mike Herb, spokesman for the Forest Grove Police Department, said “someone moved a fence, knocked down two bird houses, pulled up some signs and left behind trash, which included a glass pipe.” There are no suspects at this time.
