August sting focuses on 20 local businesses, three sold alcohol to minor decoys

The Forest Grove Police Department conducted an undercover mission Thursday, Aug. 31, and caught three local businesses selling alcohol to minors: Kama'aina Comfort Foods, Safeway and Tienda la Rosa.

The Hillsboro Police Department, Oregon Liquor Control Commission and Washington County Department of Health and Human Services assisted with the mission.

The decoy mission included 20 establishments. Seventeen businesses passed the test and did not sell any alcohol to minors: Half Moon Sports Bar, Urban Decanter, Ridgewalker Brewery, Jade Green Palace, My Place Tavern, Smoke 4 Less, The King's Head, Bi-Mart, Mini Mart, Rainbow Lanes, Diversity Café, Bites Restaurant, Mandarin China, Cornerstone Pub & Grill, Forest Grove Sushi, Circle Inn Tavern and Pizza Schmizza.

This mission was part of an ongoing collaborative effort to enforce laws related to the unlawful furnishing of alcohol to minors and to discourage underage drinking. More multi-agency operations are planned.
