Cornelius offering Spanish-language entrepreneurs' resource fair
Spanish-speaking business-owners and those interested in starting a new business in western Washington County are encouraged to come to a resource fair being hosted by Centro Cultural de Washington County on Wednesday, March 7.
The City of Cornelius is partnering with the Forest Grove/Cornelius Chamber of Commerce and Centro Cultural to host the event, which will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Centro Cultural, 1110 N. Adair St. in Cornelius. Anyone who lives or does business in western Washington County — including Hillsboro, Forest Grove, North Plains, Banks, Gaston and unincorporated communities, as well as Cornelius — is invited to attend free of charge.
The event will be keynoted by speaker Edgar Navas, chief executive officer of Cliqa Inc., a micropayment app company based in Portland. Navas will talk about how to start, grow and market a business.
Other topics of interest for those who have a business or are considering starting one include how to raise money and build up capital, counseling and training resources for businesses, and new media marketing, such as how to advertise a business online.
Resources for Spanish-speaking businesspeople in western Washington County are available from Adelante Mujeres, Centro de Prosperidad, MESO and others.
A similar event in English was held in Forest Grove last month, also with the Chamber of Commerce's involvement.
