Community members are invited to join Pacific Philharmonic — a full symphony orchestra at Pacific University made up of faculty, staff, undergraduate and graduate students and community members.

Rehearsals are every Wednesday from 7 to 10 p.m. starting Jan. 29 in Taylor-Meade on Pacific's Forest Grove campus.

Their spring concert is tentatively scheduled at 6 p.m. May 4.

The spring 2014 repertoire includes John Williams' "Superman March,"

Gustav Holst's "The Planets" and Felix Mendelssohn's "Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64" (Movement I) with faculty soloist Adam LaMotte.

The group is most in need of strings (violin, viola, cello, double bass), bassoon, oboe, French horn and percussion.
