Four more Forest Grove Vikings have inked letters of intent to further pursue their athletic careers at the collegiate level.

McKenzie Long, a point guard who was a first team all-league performer and co-Defensive Player of the Year in the Greater Valley Conference this past season, signed to attend and play basketball at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham. Long was a starter and key contributor to the Viking basketball team that finished third in the GVC and lost to Westview in the first round of the OSAA 6A state basketball playoffs.

Long's teammate, Ashlie Collins, also signed to play at MHCC. Collins, a 5-foot-8 wing at Forest Grove, was an honorable mention selection last season.

Tanner Heikes, a shortstop and pitcher for the Vikings, signed his letter of intent to play baseball, also at Mt. Hood. Forest Grove struggled on the diamond this season, but Heikes was among a handful of bright spots, excelling in the field and on the mound.

Lastly, Forest Grove track athlete Ilean Franco signed on the dotted line to attend and run for Northwest Christian University in Eugene. Franco ran sprints for the Vikings, qualifying for the finals in both the 100 and 200 meters in this spring's GVC championships.COURTESY PHOTO - Forest Grove basketball player Ashlie Collins signs her letter of intent to Mt.
