Shari's robbers stole cash and 2 pies, police say
An early-morning armed robbery on Wednesday, Jan. 24, in Troutdale ended with the arrest of two people, police say.
Kimberlee Anne Riedy, 51, and 42-year-old Christopher Douglas Briggs face charges of first and second degree robbery after Multnomah County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a man with a handgun around 3:24 a.m. at the Troutdale Shari's, 557 N.W. Phoenix Drive.
The gun wasn't fired during the incident.
"In the initial call, it was just a male inside the restaurant," noted Lt. Marc Shrake, a spokesman for the Sheriff's Office.
Police have successfully recovered two pies — one cherry and one marionberry — and some money stolen from the restaurant, according to emails from the Sheriff's Office.
Both Riedy and Briggs fled the scene by car before police arrived, but were apprehended within a few hours after Gresham police spotted a vehicle with a matching description.
Riedy and Brigg were out on parole or probation at the time of the alleged robbery, according to a news release. As of Friday, Jan. 25, they are currently being held at the Multnomah County Detention Center in downtown Portland.
Briggs' criminal history includes 13 felony convictions, seven misdemeanor convictions and one parole violation, according to booking records.
Riedy's rap sheet includes six felony convictions, three misdemeanor convictions and four parole violations, according to court records. Most of her convictions relate to theft or heroin.
