The 61-year-old resident of La Center, Wash., was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center in downtown Portland just after midnight on Wednesday, March 7.
The night before, police say they received a call around 7:35 p.m. from a woman reporting that she had been kidnapped.
Police retrieved the GPS data from the caller's cell phone and located a vehicle in the area of Bridal Veil.
"The occupants were contacted and a male occupant was detained for questioning," a news release states. "(Multnomah County Sheriff's Office) detectives were activated to investigate the alleged kidnapping."
