Two arrested after Friday night shooting
Two men were arrested after gunfire erupted at the Glendoveer Estates Apartments, 601 N.E. 162nd Avenue.
The suspects were 25-year-old Christopher Charles Carhart and 37-year-old Fontaine Lamont Adams. Both are being lodged at the Multnomah County Jail.
Around 10:46 p.m. Friday, May 11, Portland Police Bureau East Precinct and Gang Enforcement Team officers responded to the reports of gunfire at the apartments. Police learned that people were arguing in the parking lot, and at least one witness reported that a maroon Chevrolet Caprice left the area immediately after the shooting.
There were no reports of injuries from the shooting.
As officers investigated, they spoke with Carhart, who was sitting in a white Honda Civic at the Glendoveer parking lot. At the same time, they found evidence of gunfire inside his car, so Carhart was arrested without incident and faces charges of violating a restraining order.
Adams, who was a passenger in the Chevrolet that fled the scene, faces a post-prison violation warrant in connection to a previous conviction of delivery of cocaine.
Investigators believe both Carhart and Adams will face additional charges as the investigation continues.
The Gang Enforcement Team is the lead investigating unit for the shooting. Anyone who witnessed the incident or possesses video surveillance is asked to call the team at 503-823-4106.
